JANIS LYN JOPLIN LOVED ADORED AND HIGHLY ADMIRED AND VERY POLITICLLY INCORRENT

Janis Lyn Joplin, a woman who tested all limits without even trying.
She held her own, performed with the very best of them, and is one of the worldjanis_joplin_pearl_remastered_1999-inlays most unforgettable ledgan today.  Born January 19, 1943 in Port Arthur. Texas to Seth Joplin and Dorothy Joplin.  She was loved by so many.  As a teen, she became overweight and her skin broke out so badly she was left with deep scars which required dermabrasion.  Other kids at high school would routinely taunt her and call her names like "pig," "freak" or "creep”.  She finished high school, went off to college but she never finished.  She dropped out and thus her music fame started. By early 1969, Joplin was addicted to heroin, allegedly shooting at least $200 worth of heroin per day. She acquired a reputation as a "speed freak" and occasional heroin user.  She also used other psychoactive drugs and was a heavy drinker throughout her career; her trademark beverage was Southern Comfort.  She was a woman who was screaming as loud as she could but no one came and saved her.  People took her cry as something that was groovy and not the pain that was dying to come out.  This woman didn't perform.  She is by far the only person I have seen over the years that is 100% real.  She didn't perform music she became the music.  She connected with her fans in a way no other musician could.  She tore up the blues because she wasn’t telling a story she heard some place she was letting you inside her soul. She was opening herself up wide open every time she went on stage.  janis_joplin_pearl_remastered_1999-inside
In 1969, She appeared at Woodstock in August. By most accounts, Woodstock was not a happy for time for her. They had to hold her show of about 8 hours because she was so high from heroin and booze.  She couldn’t even hold herself up.  She was lucky she made it to the end of her performance up on stage. Janis Live at Woodstock 1969.   Pink loves her and Pink is great.  Many times you can hear Pink performing some of Joplin’s song when she herself gets up and plays. Article about Pink and Janis Joplin. Stevie Nicks commented that after seeing Joplin perform, "I knew that a little bit of my destiny had changed. I would search to find that connection that I had seen between Janis and her audience. In a blink of an eye she changed my life.”
Among her last public appearances were two broadcasts of The Dick Cavetti Show. In the June 25, 1970 appearance, she announced that she would attend her ten-year high-school class reunion. When asked if she had been popular in school, she admitted that when in high school, her schoolmates "laughed me out of class, out of town and out of the state. (Watch that video following this article.)
Sunday afternoon when Joplin failed to show up at the studio, producer Paul Rothschild became concerned. Full Tilt Boogie's road manager, John Cooke, drove to the Landmark Motor Hotel which has now been renamed the (Highland Gardens Hotel) where Joplin had been a guest since August 24. He saw Joplin's psychedelically painted Porsche still in the parking lot. Upon entering her room, he found her dead on the floor. The official cause of death was an overdose of heroin, possibly combined with the effects of alcohol. Cooke believes that Joplin had accidentally been given heroin which was much more potent than normal, as several of her dealer's other customers also overdosed that week. Joplin was cremated in the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Mortuary in Los Angeles; her ashes were scattered from a plane into the
Pacific Ocean and along Stinson Beach. The only funeral service was private affair held at Pierce Brothers and attended by Joplin's parents and maternal aunt.  (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970). Making her just only 27 years of age when she died  Because of her and numerous others before her and Janis_Joplin's_Porsche_356_convertibleafter her  was the Forever 27 Club starting to emerge and sadly there is no stopping it.  Its members keep growing at an alarming pace over the years.  Making this one of the most eeriest coincidences of all time and we call that the Forever 27 Club.  Which Joplin is just one of many other Permanent members.
Rest in Peace Miss Janis Lyn  Joplin.

Watch this closely.  Does anyone here think that she prepares herself for these interviews?   She takes swigs off a bottle of liquor between the commercial breaks.  She's one of my all time hero's. I relate to her on so many levels. Try to take a minute or two next time you speak to a person, look deep into their eyes, its not hard to see a person soul.  Everyone wants to be loved and yet so many of us never find it..
